A Bit of a Detour

Having arrived back in Australia on June 23 with the intention of raising funds for the programs in Tanzania, I received a ball from left-field.

A good friend sent me a job advertisement for an organisation in Darwin, I applied and got the job.

So, for now, I am working with Aboriginal People in the Adelaide River region of the Northern Territory.

The position engages with the further development of art, culture and language in the local community.

It was an unreal experience going to Centrelink and asking to have my Aged Pension cancelled.

I am aiming for a good part of my salary to go to Tanzania to further increase  the programs which are being managed by my friends and colleagues.

The GoFundMe campaign will continue to also raise funds, the needs are great. https://www.gofundme.com/f/home-for-dreamers-the-future

Images from my first three weeks in Darwin.

Had my first local mango, yum yum, found where all the seafood comes from, down at the wharves.

Sunrises and sunsets, much burning around Darwin, very big trucks, cockatoo trashing the mango trees, flowers and water.

Enjoying it immensely here but missing my friends in Tanzania.
